  3. Very interesting presentation. I, agree, with Mr. Pane's lesson about the importance of monitoring our students when they are using the internet. I found icurio to be a safe search engine for students. Mr. Crosby's speech had a profound impact on my thinking about education because of the obstacles in his classroom with his students being second-language learners. The inspiring element of his vision and style is that the obstacles did not stop him from emphasizing reading and writing in his classroom. As future educators, we can all learn something from Mr. Crosby. I would have liked to have seen some pictures in the presentation.

  4. Hi Johnetta

Your group's presentation was very good and summed up what Project Based Learning should be about. I felt that Mr. Crosby did an excellent job of connecting with his students especially because based on his initial questions the students didn't appear to be that intelligent. He also did an excellent job of making sure all of his students (including the girl with Leukemia) participated in everyday class procedures. I believe Mr. Crosby, the Canadian group, and Roosevelt Elementary School really showed how PBL can be extremely effective. From pushing students to go further to empowering students' futures; they got it done. You can tell by the excitement in the teachers' and parents' voices about PBL. Your group was right, "Being motivated helps the students stay focused, and excited about learning", and it can be seen in projects and assessments of students.
